Eutie Lornandez: ‘Titanic’

I was eight years old when I watched Titanic for the first time, and it has stuck with me ever since. There is just something so haunting about the beauty of Jack and Rose’s “worlds collided” relationship—not to mention Leonardo DiCaprio’s beauty—that gives me goosebumps. The ending gets me every time, but watching their love unfold makes me feel on top of the world!

When I’m not chasing the next ghost story or writing horoscopes, I love watching sappy romantic movies like Titanic and stalking celebrities online. I’m not talking sending them mail or breaking into their joints—that’s not my style. I stick to scrolling through their Instagram pages or pinning funny throwback pictures of them on my various Pinterest boards.

I perfected the art of making paper air planes during my time at The Spirit Standard—we would fold the week’s edition right off the press and throw them into hallways, out our windows and even off rooftops at night so it seemed there really were spirits in our town.

Because I’m always on the run, I’ve grown to love ready-to-eat meals. Let’s just say I haven’t gotten tired of PB&J sammies since my kinder-care days.

The last thing you should know about me is that I laugh like a hyena when I get really excited—hence, they’ve been my favorite animal since my very first heckle.
