Tokyo Drift(ers)

The evening began with a beautiful tour of the Imperial Palace in the Chiyoda district. These gorgeous grounds are full of elegant gardens and historical buildings, as well as the home of the Emperor of Japan, His Excellence Naruhito.

After the tour @wherestaldo and I met up with @gerannaalger and @ludilittleland to explore a bit more of the city and found ourselves conflicted as to where we wanted to go next. The Rest of the group headed off as I made my way to the Tokyo Whisky Library. After enjoying some glasses of exquisite scotch and whisky, I went to find something to eat nearby.

Except in this case I wound up on the wrong train and found myself on the far North side of the city. Thanks to the power of technology my GPS led me to Kappa Sushi Bar where I enjoyed an assortment of hand-rolled sushi and sashimi with a bowl of super spicy ramen. After talking a bit with the chefs they convinced me to drink with them, and half a bottle of saki later I find myself back on the search for my friends.

A few train rides and some walking later I finally reunite with my friends at the Robot Restaurant. To my surprise I was in the best condition, so it was up to me to help Taldo back to my apartment since there was no way he was going to make it all the way back to his place on the other side of town. As he lay on my couch laughing, only one shoe accounted for, I reflected on how fortunate I am to have such great friends to make amazing memories with.
